  • Overview

    The Associate is an integral member of the Strategic Planning and Implementation team and will support organizational strategy development, resource allocation, strategy execution, and operational effectiveness for the UN Foundation. The Associate will support (1) internal consulting services across UNF and (2) Pan-Foundation projects. Additionally, the Associate will support financial and operational analysis as well as performance management and strategic planning across UNF campaigns, alliances and initiatives. S/he will support strategic initiatives, operational processes improvement, new business evaluation, and organization wide strategy.

    Working Relationships

    The Associate, Strategic Planning and Implementation reports to the Director, Strategic Planning and Implementation and works closely with teams across the UN Foundation, including programs, alliances, and other initiatives, Integrated Development and Finance.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide data analysis or research support to the SP&I team in support of internal consulting projects, initiative- and enterprise-level strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Support project management of cross-functional and/or Pan-Foundation projects, initiatives, and/or proposals to ensure proper tracking 
    • Assist with select pan-UNF partnerships during award, implementation and close-out, providing financial and programmatic management support, liaising with partners and internal stakeholders
    • Liaise between campaign/initiative teams, Integrated Development, Strategic Planning, Business Services, and senior leadership, ensuring a flow of communication.
    • Facilitate UNF’s business planning process, updating templates regularly and liaising with teams to ensure deadlines are met and accurate and relevant information is provided for executive leadership.
    • As needed, support start-up activities and strategic planning for new campaigns and alliances as the Foundation grows

    • Provide administrative support to the Strategic Planning & Implementation team as the team supports Pan-Foundation projects, initiatives, and funders.

     

    Selection Criteria

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
    • Minimum of 2-4  years’ experience, including internships
    • Experience conducting independent research and data analysis preferred
    • Proficiency in Excel preferred; experience budgeting is helpful
    • Ability to work as a team-player and proactively seek out work
    • Exceptional copyediting skills and keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to develop, maintain, and enjoy effective working relationships with people from a wide variety of organizations and with a wide variety of functional expertise.
    • Communications skills (listening, speaking, and writing) a must.
    • Continuous learning skills and the ability to synthesize information.
    • Demonstrated discretion with sensitive organizational information and strategic planning.
    • Flexibility and a team player.
    • Self-starter.
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress. 
    • Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
